Did you know: In the late 1990s, the ‘Trailblazer’ name was
introduced on the Chevrolet S-10-based Blazer as a more luxurious trim level
(ditto the ‘Envoy’ name on GMC’s Jimmy). The S-10-based Blazer was more of a
compact SUV in size than prior Blazer iterations. In 2002, the Trailblazer (and
by extension the Envoy) became their own models and were midsize SUVs, riding
on the GMT360 platform.
